Aimée Neat is a queer UK/London based artist working between documentary, photography, moving image, costume, performance, print, music composition, writing and sound works. Interested in the power of 'the mainstream' and seeking to play with the consumer gaze, their practice often compounds authentic, intimate psychological experience against a journey of UK/ Eurocentric iconography, commerce-informed lifestyle and escapism. Blending non-fiction, imitation, satire and the surreal, Aimée sources everything from “real life”, including their work in media and television production.
Aimée has created radio programs for Resonance FM, and has exhibited/performed at Auguste Orts (Belgium), 6x6 (Berlin), Southwark Park Galleries (London), Nottingham Contemporary (Nottingham), Outpost Gallery (Norwich), the London Comedy Film Festival’s 'Artists in Comedy' at the BFI (London), and was commissioned/published by 8 Ball Community (New York).
Professionally they have worked in media, design, curation, artist facilitation, and are a creative producer, platforming and supporting a wide variety of artists.
