Aimée Neat is a queer UK/London based artist with an expanding mixed media practice, working between documentary, photography, moving image, costume, performance, print, music composition, writing and sound works. With an eye on the social, their practice often explores a journey of UK/ Eurocentric, commerce-informed lifestyle, escapism and its impact, seeking to challenge the consumer gaze. Blending the real and surreal, through documentary, costume and mimicry, Aimée sources everything from “real life”, including their work in mainstream media and television production.
Aimée has created radio programs for Resonance FM, and exhibited/performed at Auguste Orts - Belgium, 6x6 - Berlin, Southwark Park Galleries, Nottingham Contemporary, Outpost Gallery, the London Comedy Film Festival’s 'Artists in Comedy' at the BFI, and was commissioned/published by 8 Ball Community - New York.
Professionally they have worked in curation and artist facilitation, platforming and supporting a wide variety of artists, producing regular shows and events.
